Onboard Maritime represented the future of maritime training at the 2025 Learning Technologies Exhibition & Conference Awards (LT25 Awards) in London, celebrating a nomination in the 'Best Online Distance Learning Programme' category.

Recognition for Digital Cadet Development Programme

The nomination recognised Onboard Maritime's pioneering Cadet Development Programme—a fully digital and comprehensive initiative designed to support the next generation of maritime professionals. This programme’s innovative use of online learning for delivering high-quality education and bridging the gap between college and sea time has also earned recognition from the UK Chamber of Shipping earlier this year.

Attending the black-tie ceremony, Onboard Maritime representatives—Gillian Ferguson FCIPD, Angus Ferguson, and Jade Edgar—were delighted to stand as finalists among more than 300 entries, alongside leaders in the global learning technology sector.

"Although we didn't take home the top trophy, the nomination itself is a powerful testament to the impact of our approach to online maritime training," said Angus Ferguson, CEO. "Being recognised at this level has given us a significant boost to continue breaking boundaries and expanding our digital education offerings for the global maritime industry."

This experience reaffirms Onboard Maritime's commitment to providing flexible, accessible, and cutting-edge online solutions that meet the evolving needs of the modern shipping world, ensuring high standards in professional maritime training wherever seafarers are based.
